We had high hopes that the Osaka concerts would go on as scheduled, but alas… they also fell victim to the bouts of cancellations due to the Coronavirus pandemic. All of these cancellations are for the best, but that doesn’t make the disappointment sting any less.
Here’s the official announcement by SQEX on Twitter:
This also came on the heels of Falcom announcing that the jdk BAND concert scheduled on April 29 would also be cancelled.
So everybody, please hang in there. Even though so many of these awesome events are getting the axe, it really is for the best. Please stay vigilant and take precautions to avoid the virus. The best way to do this is to STAY HOME, avoid crowds, wear a mask, wash your hands frequently, and maybe even wear gloves for places of high traffic. These events will likely be rescheduled again in the near future, but until then, let’s try to keep our spirits up… We’re definitely not out of the woods yet!
With the release of the next installment in the Ys series looming just a week a way from today, let’s take a look back at this year’s Tokyo Game Show and the awesome mini-concert by the Falcom jdk BAND! Since Falcom didn’t have their own booth at the event, the band performed at the Konami booth on both Saturday and Sunday at TGS! The photos shown here are from the concert on Saturday!
First of all here’s a quick break-down of the current band members:
Ys IX -Monstrum NOX- is scheduled for release on September 26, 2019 for the PlayStation4!
Ys IX takes place after the events of Ys Seven as it follows Adol’s adventures to the “Prison City” of Balduq, a major city located in Gllia-Erdlingen, a Romun province located in the northeast Esterior peninsula.
After their adventures in Altago (Ys Seven), Adol and Dogi find their way to the “Prison City” of Balduq and are quickly apprehended as suspects in the sudden disappearance of the Romun fleet in the Atlas Ocean. Although they proclaim their innocence, the solders lock them away in the city’s prison.
Eventually, a mysterious girl with a prosthetic arm and leg comes to their rescue. She introduces herself as Aprilis, a so-called “Monstrum”. She explains how she and the other Monstrum like her are feared by the city folk for their mysterious appearance and supernatural powers. It is from this chance encounter that Adol’s adventure in Balduq begins.
