We extend our heartfelt gratitude to all our fans and partners for their unwavering support. While this marks the end of GEMS COMPANY in its current form, details about future activities will be shared at a later date.

This news comes off the heels of the great success of their single “Hai to Inori” which was used as the ending theme for the NieR:Automata Ver.1.1a anime’s second season.

The group has also made new renditions of the classic YoRHa themes, such as “Guadalcanal”:

Granted, this doesn’t sound like a complete end to the group as much as it’s the beginning of a large restructuring effort moving forward. I’m curious to hear more of where things could possibly come from here.

It may take a little while, but I plan on translating the following messages, so please stay tuned!

Hinaka Hoshina

To all our fans who have supported us,

GEMS COMPANY will come to an end with our live performance on December 7th.

We began streaming on April 17th, 2018, and it’s been about six years since we formed in August of that year. We’ve been able to continue for so long because of each and every one of you who supported us along the way.

I’m sorry that I couldn’t fulfill all of our fans’ wishes for a bigger and brighter stage.

But!!!!!!! Since receiving this message, I’ve been giving it my all so that I have no regrets!

If you ever feel lonely, I’d be so happy if you remembered listening to our songs. I hope they give you strength!!

When I try to put the past six years into words, nothing feels quite right.

I just want you to know—I really, really love you all!

I’ll live my life to the fullest until the very end, so please keep supporting me.

With love,
Hinaka Hoshina

NieR:Automata Ver.1.1a Anime Season 2 Ending Theme “Ashes and Prayers” Single CD to include new renditions of classic YoRHa songs “Normandy” and “Guadalcanal”

The Single CD for the NieR:Automata Ver.1.1a anime Season 2 ending theme, “Ashes and Prayers” (灰ト祈リ / hai to inori), will be released on Wednesday, September 4.

Pre-orders can be made from various venders here. There are several different versions that will be released as well, some with a companion blu-ray disc of the music video or without, plus there is also a limited edition version that comes with a bonus large CD jacket.

It will also be coupled with the songs “Normandy” and “Guadalcanal”, which Keiichi Okabe explains have been updated to include all GEMS COMPANY members rather than only Yukino Akaba & Mikoto Hase as in the 2019 version.

These songs were originally composed by Keiichi Okabe for the YoRHa stage play in 2014, and Yukino Akaba & Mikoto Hase from GEMS COMPANY covered them for the YoRHa Ver.1.3a stage play in 2019 and YoRHa Ver.1.3aa in 2020. Reina Tanaka also covered the song “Guadalcanal” at the YoRHa Ver.1.2 Musical in 2018.

YoRHa Ver.1.3a “Guadalcanal” by Gems Company

The latest rendition of the YoRHa state play featured two new remixes of the classic YoRHa themes, “Normandy” and “Guadalcanal”.

Just today, the official Gems Company YouTube channel released a music video that utilizes the typical vTuber style of animation for the group. Although I’m not a fan of this sort of CG style, it is still very nice to hear an updated version of this song after 5 years.

Be sure to check out this new version below!
