The official YoRHa Stage twitter account has been adding several character based key visuals recently and will likely post more in the coming days until the opening of the show next week, so should any additional images be posted, I will edit this post to add them to this singular post.

The YoRHa Ver.1.3a stage play will have their dress rehearsal on Wednesday, July 3rd, followed by opening day on Thursday, July 4th in Tokyo. Please stay tuned for my report from the dress rehearsal!

Square Enix to Announce More of Their Manga Coming to the West!

On the official Anime Expo website, Square Enix (SQEX) will be announcing their plans to release more of their manga outside of Japan!

There’s a new manga publisher in town! You may know SQUARE ENIX as one of the world’s top game companies, but in Japan, we’re also one of the top comic and book publishers. At AX this year, we’re announcing our brand-new English-language imprint, with an exciting Final Fantasy XV novel, a new edition of Soul Eater, Hi Score Girl—the manga that became an anime on Netflix, and more SECRET titles. Get ready: The manga world is about to change forever!

Perhaps you remember that it was at Anime Expo 2017 that YenPress announced that they were picking up Yoko Taro’s manga “Kimi Shi ni Tamou Koto Nakare / Thou Shalt Not Die”, but they have failed to follow up on any news regarding this since then.

Could it be that SQEX has since rescinded the localization rights for Thou Shalt Not Die from YenPress in order to release it themselves? Especially given the poor treatment they’ve received by other publishers?

It may also be important to note that SQEX’s “Manga UP!” smartphone application makes it easy to find, purchase, and read digital copies of their manga, often presenting the first chapter free to read. This could be a cheap and relatively easy way for SQEX to release more of their manga in the West on this platform.

There are currently three series of Yoko Taro’s manga available on the application:

  • Thou Shalt Not Die
  • SINoALICE
  • Drag-on Dragoon 3 – Shi ni Itaru Aka

YoRHa Ver.1.3a Stage Play – Advance Talk Show

A livestream talk event for the up-coming YoRHa Ver.1.3a stage play will air on NicoNico Douga on Thursday, June 27 at 8:00pm (JST). The free portion of the livestream will cover news and information from the play rehearsal as well as relaying some additional information about the stage play. For those who have a Premium membership to NicoNico Douga, the livestream will continue over to an izakaya somewhere in Shinjuku, which should be pretty entertaining.

Scheduled appearances include the entire cast of the play as well as Matsuda Ichidai (director), Saito Yosuke (SQEX producer), and Yoko Taro (creator).

Response to NieR:Automata 2 Rumors

For the past several days, there have been a couple different rumors flying around, but the majority revolve around unconfirmed information that not only is a NieR:Automata 2 is in development but it will also have a large budget. The only authority that can speak about this is SQEX, so until that time comes, let’s avoid spreading uncorroborated rumors from unknown sources.

With this in mind, I have updated my original page dedicated to this subject, Yoko’s New Project, and I suggest everyone to have a read through it as I go into depth regarding the recruiting process for the project, who was hired and when, as well as what they are likely working on:

AFTERWORD: I realize the attached image that I selected for this post is a little strong for the point that I’m trying to make here. The image suggests that rumors stem from lies, but this isn’t necessarily accurate for this case. There very well could be some truth behind leaks like this, if that’s what this is, but the fact remains that it’s very easy for unsubstantiated comments to be taken at face value and therefore shared over and over again until no one remembers where the information originally came from or, more importantly, whether it’s valid or not.

SINoALICE x DOD3 Rerun Collab Starts June 25!

The second run of the DOD3 collaboration in SINoALICE will start on June 25!

Although this is a rerun of the same collab as before, there are some new additions! We can expect the other Utautai sisters to be recruitable this time around! Two, Three, Four, and Five!

Additionally, if anyone is curious about the song in the official SINoALICE x DOD3 collab trailer, it’s Ine’s battle theme, which I translated the lyrics way back in the day here.
