  1. I unconciously picked up my wallet while reading this. Reminds me that I haven’t used my keyboard in about a month now. Poor thing should be played more often X.x

    • I know!! My poor piano has been neglected for so long… probably 3 or 4 months. 🙁 I probably can’t play my favorite themes from Nier any more…

Sort of off topic, I wrote to the MONACA guys on Twitter, saying how I wish they could have another piano concert like they had for the release of the Nier piano album and Okabe-san responded by saying that he didn’t know if it could be a possibility or not this time, but that he hoped I would enjoy playing the music at home. Pretty cute. He was like ^^;) too. haha Sorry about that, Okabe-san! <3

  2. Oh it’s fine. It’s really nice hearing from people like Okabe, but kind of sort of an impossibility for someone like me without any hold on japanese language >.<. I like hearing from developers, even if they troll endlessly about stuff Kamiya (the guy involved in the Viewtiful Joe, Devil May Cry, and Bayonetta). It'd be nice if they do have a concert. I bet a concert would be fun to attend.

Completely off topic tangent, but I really wish Akira Yamaoka would go on tour somewhere near where a I live :/ The man's really good at what he does (if you haven't I REALLY recommend you play Silent Hill 2 at least once. It's a really touching survival horror game).

    • Yes, my other passion is with music concerts, so it’s like a dream to be able to hear some of these extremely talented people perform live, like Earthbound Papas (with Uematsu Nobuo and Hirota Yoshitaka, among others), Mitsuda Yasunori, and… I’m blanking on others. Mitsuda-san was beyond adorable at the small venue I went to last year, I think? Two years ago? It was a concert where other musicians played various pieces he composed, but he also played a fancy instrument from Ireland…and he commented how he might not be able to play very well. “Please forgive me if I make a mistake.” So damn cute! <3

I haven’t actually played many horror games, although watching some videos by PewDiePie on youtube has got me kinda interested. Then again, I just like watching him play through it and make his crazy comments. It’s quite entertaining! But I’ll have to check out Yamaoka. I don’t really know who he is. xD

  3. Sorry for the double post but on the topic of piano playing and that kind of thing, having small hands is a huge issue when you can barely stretch them to play a 2 notes one octave apart -m- FFFFFFFFFFFF my genetics and my 8 year old sized hands.

    • Oh really! Yeah, I have kinda huge hands so I can come close to two notes beyond an octave. Just, I’m pretty double jointed, and the past couple years, my hands really HURT after playing just a little bit. I don’t think it’s just being out of practice… 🙁 Oh, and my sight reading SUCKS. haha I have to practice a lot to be able to play anything, and FORGET ABOUT IT if anyone is in the room. I cannot perform anything instrument wise. Singing is a whole-nother deal. I love karaoke… actually going tonight!! WEE!!

      • I haven’t done karaoke in a long, long time (last time was a year and a half ago). I miss those days since I was really close with the people I hung out with in high school. And this is kind of uh… embarassing but the way I got better at sight reading is by drawing in symbols on the sheet music to make it look like rhythm game notes like Osu’s x.x. My piano teacher looked at me funny and probably thought why is this little kid drawing on her music sheets? But my sight reading improved significantly after. I think having the different colors on it just help some too. I’d recommend watching a Silent Hill 2 playthrough w/o commentary or with someone who’s not very intrusive with theirs. Isolation if you can’t play it. Isolation is a big theme in the game.
