Dengeki Playstation Awards 2013

This just in!  The results from the 2013 Dengeki Playstation Awards have just come in!  And here’s some awesome news for us DOD3 fans!!

Zero made it into 4th place for the favorite character category just under the following characters:

  1. Lightning (FFXIII: LR)
  2. Hatsune Miku (Hatsune Miku -Project DIVA- F)
  3. Monokuma (Dangan Ronpa 1-2 Reload)

 

Mikhail just barely made it into the ranking in 19th place. There were multiple ties in this category, so the numbering ended up pretty funky.

DOD3 made it into 7th place for favorite game of 2013.  Here’s the line up from the top 6 places:

Although DOD3 didn’t make it into the top three of either category, I think it’s still very good that it made the awards list in BOTH categories!!  That has to stand for something!

So, congrats to DOD3 and all the guys who made this game a possibility!  It is certainly a very beloved game of 2013 by many fans around the globe!!  Great job, everybody!!  Now please do it again with DOD4 or Nier 2, please!!!!  <3

    • Should I be glad that haven’t played any FF since FFVIII? I suppose I’m not missing anything. I have absolutely no interest in MMORPGs either, so XI & XIV are out completely. I’m a little interested in XV… but… I don’t want to support something that essentially strangles awesome niche series… 🙁

      I really know nothing about XIII, but I was pretty disgusted simply when I heard they were trying to pass her off as a female Cloud. Um. NO! I know I have a sometimes irrational bias for Cloud, but really… They can’t force people to like a character like that. orz Anyway…

  2. *going to get extremely off topic and rant on things unrelated because FF13 and anything related just does that to me

    I don’t think I’ve really liked any of the FFs past 9… I hated 8 and hated 10 and 10-2 even more (haven’t played 11 or 12). Some RL friends managed to convince me 13 would somehow be a good idea. It wasn’t. In fact, this game is the closest I’ve come to selling a game within my posession. Needless to say, I couldn’t believe SE would put out something about as pleasant as experiencing the smell of freshly opened Surströmming cans. And I thought 8 and 10 were bad. That’s why I’ve completely dropped all expectations for 13 and anything related in the narrative department.

    As for Lightning/Cloud similiarities, they’re not even very alike beyond appearences. The even sadder thing than the demon-spawn of games she’s in is that SE can’t even keep her personality somewhat consistent. She literally feels like a different character every single freaking time.

    Another thing that bugs me about this fiasco is that Lightning seems to be ESPECIALLY popular among the female demographic. As if the popularity of 50 Shades of Grey recently wasn’t enough for me to consider face-keyboarding enough. If you can avoid the FF13 series. It’ll be good for your sanity. Otherwise just play LR and completely ignore the story. It only goes downhill from the moment you pop the disc into your PS3 as fast as it takes for someone from the GOP to spout some ludicrous, psychotic crap. At least the combat in Lightning returns was enjoyable.

    Yeah, I know this isn’t the place for me to rant on ff13 but I can’t help but rage a bit about this piece of shit game I forced myself to beat twice in an effort try to find something to like. It’s almost as bad as what Twilight has done to the romance novel genre. Not that I ever really liked the genre as a whole, but I have to suffer through it being in some way apart of my life because the female audience in my age group is the target group just like how I have to suffer through FF13+games having a similiar influence. Screw you Toriyama.
