NieR Voice Actress Performs in a Stage Drama

Kadowaki Mai, the voice of NieR’s Emil, just wrapped up a week-long stage performance in the dramatic comedy “Sekai no Hate wa, Pants no Hate da” (The end of the world is the end of panties) by Moratorium Pants (モラパン). It was a really funny play that took a look at the lives of many different people who are all connected by a single city. The story takes place during the early morning hours until daybreak.

The main theme of the story was about not giving up even if things don’t go your way…and that sometimes even better things will happen because of some misfortunate thing in the past. There was also a very clear carpe diem theme as well.

Here’s a quick translation of the story from the site on CoRich:

The day will soon come to an end.
A man spends his birthday at a karaoke box with a blonde-haired girl he just met.
A woman sings her heart out at a nearby bar, while two girls who snuck out of their house to play at a love hotel.
A DJ always starts his show right on time, while a group of junior high girls look down from an apartment at the river that winds through the city.
A father on his deathbed, new life about to be born.
A man trying to pick up a girl walking down the road.
And even an alien from Mars looks up at the heavens.
When all of these stories come together, a small miracle occurs at dawn.
Perhaps this is how we create “the world”.

After the play, many of the cast members came out to the lobby to greet everyone and I spoke very briefly with Kadowaki-san. I’m usually pretty horrible with nerves and am very shy talking with people, but I hope I was able to express myself well enough. I also wanted to take a photo with her but forgot because I’m an idiot. (haha)

But anyway, it was okay to take photos during the first portion of the play, so here’s one of Kadowaki-san as the character Midori.

I told Kadowaki-san that I’m looking forward to seeing her speak at the NieR event tomorrow and she said she’ll give it her best. 🙂 What a busy girl!!

Note: I took many other photos, but I will have to add them later.
