New RPG by Sakaguchi and Mistwalker – For Mobile

terra01terra03There will be a new RPG title by the Final Fantasy creator Sakaguchi Hironobu and his company Mistwalker. Pre-registration for the Download Starter opened on August 28th.

This game will feature an interesting setup for downloadable content, which is determined by how many times the free game has been downloaded. Here’s the flow (there may be come discrepancies in the information between the Official Website and the Official Trailer):

  • Nobuo Uematsu will provide one song.

200,000 Downloads:

  • Minaba Hideo will provide a new character illustration.

300,000 Downloads:

  • Manga illustrator Suzuki Nakaba will join the battle.

400,000 Downloads:

  • Yoneda Hitoshi will provide new artwork.

500,000 Downloads:

  • Kusunoki Manabu and Oshima Naoto will join the battle.

600,000 Downloads:

  • Fujisaka Kimihiko will provide a new character design.

700,000 Downloads:

  • Oshima Naoto will join the battle.

800,000 Downloads:

  • The official Terra Battle strategy guide book will be published.

900,000 Downloads:

  • Select music tracks from the game will be available for free download for a limited time.

1,000,000 Downloads:

  • There will be a Terra Battle musical concert hosted by Uematsu Nobuo and more (the members of Earthbound Papas?!?).
  • Illustrations from battle scenes will become available.
  • Online battles between players will be available.

1,100,000 Downloads:

  • The Moustache Boss will make an appearance.

1,200,000 Downloads:

  • Uematsu Nobuo will compose a second original theme.

1,300,000 Downloads:

  • The official Terra Battle art book will be released.

1,400,000 Downloads:

  • A figurine of a mysterious being from the game will given away in a lottery.

1,500,000 Downloads:

  • Amano Yoshitaka will join the battle.
  • Matsuno Yasumi will join the battle with a new story scenario including new characters and settings.

2,000,000 Downloads:

  • A console version of Terra Battle will become available.
